We were approached a while ago to develop a logo idea for Skunk Works. As we understood it Skunk Works was a group of programmers who got together to figure out ways to of bring open source to the general Populace in Kenya.

Our brief was to create something fresh and not related to the original Skunk Works in California because those guys make airplanes for various air forces and these guys are the force behind open source in Kenya (which, looking at the guys involved, may one day be making the code that runs the planes – but not just yet).

So we set out to create something that was fresh and positive and looked young and classy. We came up with the above, any thoughts?

A website dedicated to the auto dealers in Kenya has just been launched. JBD looked at the site and had an idea for the logo as we would have done it.

Mona plastics is an environmentally conscience plastics company. They requested a logo that reflected that much of what they produced was actually from recycled material.

We hope that it is clear that Mona Plastics do that. Sadly the management at the firm insists on calling the firm PL instead of plastics which i think does the company an injustice.

Anyway, as usual, opinions welcome.

K-Rep Bank have launched a new mobile banking solution for their customers. They requested us to develop a basic brand for them for the product was inline with their current branding.

So We came up with this logo idea. What do you guys think.

We have been working on a logo for MEdiaTrain, they wanted something easy to identify as a being related to media but also not too complex.

We focused on the vedio camera as the main symbol for the log then simplified it to the most basic shapes we could manage. Have a look at our inital draft of it below, let us know what you think through the comment form below.

We were contacted by a client and asked to come up with a logo for a business she was involved in, we did this happily after an initial brief and sent her the initial logo (below) based on her brief.

Then we happened to go out to Lamu where the establishment itself was. Honestly the logo we had done probably did not do the place any justice. It was a truly beautiful little café off one of Lamu towns narrow streets.

Upon entering we agreed that the logo we had done was not a perfect fit. It didn’t suit the place as much as an idea that would later dawn on us – shown above.

Anyway, the place has some pretty fantastic food and a single apartment type of  room for board when you happen to be visiting Lamu – it is likely to be a bed and breakfast service but we aren’t sure and forgot to ask.

This is an initiative by a client of ours whose core purpose will be helping individuals that find they need the help. We cannot say more than that for now on the initiative’s mission.

We decided to create a logo that felt close, less corporate and more neighborly. We also chose a symbol that is internationally recognized for its roll in giving. Sometime people even give just flowers with nothing else. Guilty husbands, hands up…

Job Ballard Design was asked to design a logo for Waweru Gatonye & Co. Advocates towards the ends of last year. We developed the following options and are currently awaiting their feedback on the same.

We were asked to look at developing a logo that was representative of the firm and its industry, that was stylish but also not flamboyant, we translated that the way we knew best how into the options below.

We were not sure what exactly to do because initial drafts are all about developing a feel for what the client wants in their logo, so we tried to be as varied as possible yet as conservative as possible without being too dull.
